Description
Clematis ‘Louise Rowe’ is one of those beautifully refined clematis varieties that quietly steals the show. It produces a mix of double, semi‑double and single flowers all at the same time, giving it a wonderfully textured, layered look. The blooms are pale grey‑mauve with a soft green flush at the centre, and early in the season the inner petals twist slightly, creating a frilly, sculptural effect. As the flowers mature, they open out into elegant semi‑double and single forms, keeping the plant interesting for months.
This is an early large‑flowered clematis, flowering first in early summer on old wood, then again in late summer to early autumn on new growth. It’s compact enough for smaller gardens, containers, obelisks and trellises, yet showy enough to make a real impact.
